Whether you are building a business from scratch or leading a team, sometimes the hardest thing is to work out what you want.
Many big companies have beautifully crafted vision statements, but they end-up being so generic, everyone ignores them or interprets them differently. Solopreneurs can feel pressured to have massive ambitions to impress others, but deep down, they don’t believe or relate to them.
The most powerful thing you can do, is set a tangible and clear ambition that you believe in. If you are a business owner, get clear on what kind of company you want to be, the impact you will make and where you want to get your growth from. If you are working on a project, have a view of what you want to happen as a result, what success would really look like.
Getting clear on what you want, does not mean letting go of opportunities or flexibility. But it does mean a clear direction you can build a plan behind, something to unite your employees if you have them, and a clear brief for any agencies helping you.
